I was pretty confused as to what kind of flowers to pick for my wedding. I had no idea where to start. Most of the luxury wedding flower decorations in Delhi are clichéd and repetitive. I wanted something that was trendy yet unique. Not just any run-of-the-mill choices that Delhi flower decoration services tend to provide to pretty much every customer. Now, I am not saying that those choices are terrible, and flower decorations for wedding in Delhi are not any good. It’s just that they don’t amuse me anymore, and amusement is what I was looking for. But, as I said before, I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t even know the names of the flowers except for maybe roses, lilies, and orchids! Okay, maybe, marigolds too. But, that’s it!
So, I decided to do some research on flowers and came across some really interesting information about flowers which Delhi wedding flower decoration services will never tell you. But, finding all this information that I am just about to share with you guys wasn’t an easy task. First of all, there was no proper guide available, nor there were any traditional florists located around where I lived. So, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Wedding magazines typically inspire luxury Wedding Flower Decorations in Delhi, and since most of those magazines try to sell the most expensive or out of season options to customers, I was pretty much avoiding taking any recommendations from them. For example, let’s take Orchids. They have a very specific season and cost around two or three times more than roses which never go out of season. Of course, you can have Orchids at any time of the year you want, but they need to be shipped in from other parts of the world and hence, add extra cost to your wedding budget. They DO NOT come cheap.
Most of the flower decorators in Delhi consists of flowers like Lilies, Orchids, Tulip, Dahlia, Sunflower, etc. but not all of them are available all year round. S, if you want to cut your budget to get something more “appropriate” for your wedding which not only suits your needs but also comes at a reasonable price, you must know what’s the right season for which flowers. Just a month here and there can make a difference of a couple of 0’s in your budget. I am not even kidding.
Let’s say you like peonies, which normally everyone does but, if you don’t agree with the price, you can use a garden rose variety which looks exactly the same. For example, the garden variety Peony Rose is available year-round and costs around Rs. 1000 for 11-12 stems. Still not inexpensive than your regular roses but not nearly as expensive as peonies. And then, you can easily mix these Peony Roses with traditional roses and add a unique look to the bouquets and the whole flower decor.
So, without much further adieu, here is the season-wise list of flowers I prepared. I have excluded flowers like Roses and Orchids which are available nearly all year-round:
- Spring Season: Gardenia, Tulip, Ranunculus
- Summer Season: Casa Blanca Lily, Hydrangea, Dahlia
- Fall Season: Sunflower, Freesia Daisy
- Winter Season: Amaryllis, Pansy, Holly.
